CASA of Southern Kentucky Expands Services

Somerset, Kentucky- December 4, 2025, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Southern Kentucky, a nonprofit organization that recruits and trains community volunteers to advocate for the best interests of children who have experienced abuse or neglect, is proud to announce its expansion into Russell and Wayne Counties. This growth reflects the organization’s commitment to ensuring that all children have access to a safe, permanent home where they have an opportunity to thrive.

This expansion will enable CASA of Southern Kentucky to provide best interest advocacy to foster children in the new service area. We are also pleased to share that the organization recently welcomed Lisa Coffey of Russell County as our new Volunteer Coordinator, further strengthening our capacity to support CASA volunteers as well as Lisa Gosser of Russell County, who joined the Board of Directors. The Organization is actively seeking to add a Wayne County representative to our Board.

“We’re thrilled to bring our program to new communities,” said Tammy Roberts, Executive Director. “This expansion will allow us to serve two counties who have never had a CASA program.” There are currently 18 CASA programs in Kentucky serving 99 Counties with this expansion, making progress toward the goal of serving all 120 counties by 2027.

This strategic growth is supported by the Kentucky CASA Network (KCN) and the National CASA/GAL Association, ensuring that CASA of Southern Kentucky can maintain high quality service delivery as we work toward our mission to provide independent, thorough, and effective advocacy for children who have experienced abuse, neglect, or dependency. Through the recruitment, training, and supervision of dedicated community volunteers, we work to ensure that every child within our service area has a voice in court and the opportunity to grow up in a safe, stable, and permanent home.
