[Somerset, Kentucky] – Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Southern Kentucky is proud to announce the appointment of Mandy Prather as the Board’s Chair, filling the vacancy left by outgoing Chair, Sandy Colyer. Prather will continue to guide CASA’s mission to provide independent, thorough, and effective advocacy for children who have experienced abuse, neglect, or dependency. Through the recruitment, training, and supervision of dedicated community volunteers, we work to ensure that every child within our service area has a voice in court and the opportunity to grow up in a safe, stable, and permanent home.
In addition to Prather, CASA of Southern Kentucky welcomes Board members who have joined the organization in 2025. From Somerset, Shawna Vanhook and Sheeba Picard; from Rockcastle County, Jennifer Mattingly and from Russell County, Lisa Gosser. Each brings expertise in the areas of community engagement and leadership.
The Organization would also like to acknowledge and thank our continuing Board members for their ongoing leadership and commitment to our Program. This includes our Executive Committee members: Barbara Beckman, Vice Chair; Keitha Barnett, Treasurer; and Jackie Rogers, Secretary, in addition to Erin Alderdice, Grant Burdette, Greg Cowan, Nate Fisher, Lori Price, and Tina White.
